"FIFTY GIMPS are the next big thing, the one to watch out for over the next year." said Rolling Stone magazine. In actual fact, Rolling Stone didn't say shit because they don't have the fucking balls to cover something as fresh as this. When asked if doing something like Rolling Stone was on their list of 'to do's' the band said, "Why would we let that piece of crap leech off our genius?" And so you have the attitude and air of self confidence that is FIFTY GIMPS!

The band describe their sound as a bit like sushi, kind of tasty but unadulterated. The style is a simplistic back to rock roots, a stripped down sound not unlike the White Stripes formula but by no means in the same category. They cover issues that affect the common working class man like Octopuses and planets. Planets you say? Yes, we are all surrounded by them and it's relevance is clearly revealed in the lyrics of this creative face fuck. The raw power of the band shines through on tracks like 'No Mercy for William Shatner', any man with Shat in his name deserves to be an object of hatred in a song.

The imagery used in the sleeve notes to the songs are a very particular and deliberate style. When seeing the cover and inner pages you are immediately reminded of the kind of interpretations of hell found in Dante's inferno, giving you a perfect companion to the sonic assault contained on their album. The artist is called Redghostkiller who is a personal friend of the band and a fan.

Everybody like to get on the panzerwaggon first so are you ready to let these bandits play with your ears? If your answer is a wise and informed yes, then get on board quickly because this train is destined for Grand Central where a station full of passengers will be fighting to get on board. What they don't know is the destination could be Auschwitz!

The fifty gimps will be denouncing a tour of America soon starting with some small venues to connect with the grass roots fans which could be material for a live DVD.
